Principalities & Man

The image above depicts some of interactions between principalities and mankind that often occur in the spiritual realm.  The individual pictures are only crude representations of the various entities shown.  Fallen angels can appear in many different “forms” - The Queen often appears as a bird, a beautiful woman, an ugly witch, a female horse also known as a nightmare and more - it all depends on the current "work" they are trying to carry out in our lives.  This graphic representation helps to show some of the more common interactions which the Lord has revealed to us over the years.

We don't see these fallen angels with our physical eyes but rather with spiritual eyes. Some people are more sensitive than others and can see these things "in the spirit". Most people have dreams or nightmares where these spiritual beings can and often do make themselves known.  Many of the "pictures" we see are from the animal kingdom. Scripture has many references that describe a particular sinful behavior that is the normal behavior of an earthly animal and fallen angels manifest in that "form" when we "see" them.  So if we see a wolf or dog or hair up on the back as a picture we are usually looking at an antichrist spirit.  If we see grave clothes or prison bars or fog or deep waters we would be looking at a spirit of death.  A roaring lion roars to instill fear and terror - the devil prowls about like a lion looking for whom he can devour (1 Pet 5:8). The Queen of Heaven, who specializes in sins of the flesh, will often tempt us with visions and dreams of beautiful women or handsome men - she is the night mare (female horse). God in the Old Testament described many animals as unclean - these same animals are used to represent various unclean demons or fallen angels: frogs, insects, spiders, pigs, etc.  Satan and his army of evil spiritual beings will just as easily pass themselves of as a friend as they do as an enemy - spirit guides and familiar spirits that befriend us in order to trap us.  Satan himself is described as an angle of light (2 Cor 11:12-14).

How We All Get a Strong Man and How We Can All Get Free

We all started off our lives not believing in, not trusting in and not submitting to Jesus Christ. Therefore we were already judged.

John 3:18 (ESV)
Whoever believes in Jesus Christ is not condemned [judged], but whoever does not believe is condemned [judged] already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

We all started off our lives having sinned.

Romans 3:23 (ESV)
...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...

Since we all sinned we were all trapped in the prison of spiritual death.

James 1:14-15 (ESV)
14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

Since we all sinned we were all overcome by sin and became slaves to sin.

John 8:34 (ESV)
Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.

2 Peter 2:19 (ESV)
They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.

Being separated from God we all listened to worthless philosophies and lies from the world and from evil spirits and having given into our own desires we sinned and became captives to our sin [captives to a demon] because we disobeyed God's life giving commands.

Colossians 2:8 (ESV)
See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

We have all judged others, condemned others and were bitter towards what others did to us and we resolved to not forgive them even to the point of blaming God and not forgiving God for what happened to us.

Luke 6:37 (ESV)
“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven

Matthew 6:14-15 (ESV)
14 For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

God himself will turn us over to the tormentors [demons] until such time as we make a sincere choice, from our hearts, to forgive everyone.

Matthew 18:33-35 (NIV)
33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. 35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

Then one day God called us by His grace and mercy and He made know to our hearts His great love for us through His Son Jesus Christ who died for us to take away our sins and He forgave us our sins when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. With the help of the Holy Spirit we chose to live a righteous life and come away from our lives of impurity and lawlessness.

Romans 6:17-22 (ESV)
17 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, 18 and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. 19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. 20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.

But a problem remained. We continued to live divided lives. In our hearts we longed to do right but in our flesh we still did wrong.

Romans 7:21-24 (ESV)
21 So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?

We were double-minded persons because we were still being pulled back into our old flesh patterns. We had not yet been set free from the strong man [familiar spirit, spirit guide, false child, false self] within us.

Mark 3:24-27 (ESV)
24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end. 27 But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house.

BUT by the power of God we can confess, renounce and repent of our sins including giving up our bitterness and forgiving everyone who has done us harm - real or perceived. God in turn is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). With the help of God and the church we can bind up the strong man and plunder our house, which was created to be God's temple (1 Cor 6:19-20). Plundering the house is the process of removing demonic attachments to every part of us that we had previously given over to sin and became slaves to.  As with any organization in God's creation there are levels or chains of authority.  The strong man is the top authority among demons that indwell a person and once he is removed the others can also be removed/plundered (although sometimes the strong man will sacrifice lower demons in order to stay longer).

James 4:6-8 (ESV)
6 But God gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Matthew 18:18 (ESV)
Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Romans 8:15 (ESV)
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”

John 8:35-36 (ESV)
35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

The Asherah Pole

The Asherah Pole lays over the spine and is rooted or anchored in the person’s pelvic area.  It exits at the crown of the head.  The Queen, in the form of a bird, often perches on the top of the pole and acts like the bird in the four soils parable that eats the seed (God's word).  The pole and its root/anchor system represents the natural family line or natural inheritances to the third and forth generation which is the domain of fallen angels known as Powers (a.k.a. Authorities) [Greek: exousia].  The pole can vary between two states - a pole/beam/tree and a snake.

It is not surprising that parallels are found in many religions since Principalities and Powers are universal.

Jesus Christ was lifted up on a tree, the cross, to die and bring mankind a way to get right with God by believing in Jesus as our personal Lord and savior. Principalities and Powers under the direction of Satan work to counterfeit God's purposes. P&Ps use the tree/pole in many cultures along with the serpent to misdirect us away from God the Father's purposes.

The thunder bird on the top of a totem pole represents the biblical Queen of Heaven principality as does the Hindu Sahasrara crown Chakra on top of multiple Chakra which follow the spine.  It is just like the Lord has shown us - the Queen often perches on the head like a bird and finds a spiritual place to perch on the spiritual asherah pole that runs along a person's spine from the pelvic region out through the top of the head just like it is portrayed in the Hindu religion.  The totem pole is the equivalent of the asherah pole where the thunder bird sits on top and the pole (tree and roots) itself represents a person's ancestors to the 3rd and 4th generation under the oversight of the Powers/Authorities who follow family "trees".  This is a counterfeit to God's promised tree of life.

THESE ARE THE "THEM" THAT THE LORD IS CALLING US TO "COME OUT FROM THEM" - PRINCIPALITIES (aka RULERS) & POWERS (aka AUTHORITIES).

They have permission to be there until we come to Christ who then offers us the children's bread in order that we may obtain freedom from their influence, control and oppression.  But even as Christians we have to want to come away from them and to actually come away from them is a matter of exercising our will which is governed by our heart.  The world, the flesh and the devil (Eph 2:1-3) are powerful forces constantly at work to keep us from coming out from them.  The good news is that in Christ all things are possible and God in infinitely more powerful than P&Ps - He created them.  Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).

The serpent is the name the scripture used for Satan when he successfully tempted Eve, it is one of the biblical names for Satan - serpent, dragon.  But in scripture it is also the bronze serpent that when looked upon caused Israelites bitten by poisonous snakes to be healed - a precursor to looking to Jesus Christ on the Cross to save us from our sin, it is the staff of Arron that when thrown to the ground turned into the serpent which swallowed up the serpents that the Egyptian magicians conjured up by their false gods (fallen angels).  Satan is always trying to substitute his story of deception and lies for God's true salvation history.
